Before tying the knot to his wife Meghan Markle, Prince Harry didn’t quite grasp the full extent of racism. Now that he’s married to a biracial woman, he can see racism through a different lens. More inside…
Prince Harry thought he knew what racism was. But it wasn’t until he got with his wife, Meghan Markle, who is biracial, that he realized the negative effects racism has on a whole culture of people.
“I wasn’t aware of so many of the issues and so many of the problems within the UK and also globally as well. I thought I did but I didn’t,” Prince Harry said in a rare interview with the Evening Standard about the Black Lives Matter movement in honor of British Black History Month
“You know, when you go into a shop with your children and you only see white dolls, do you even think, ‘That’s weird, there is not a black doll there?’”
The 36-year-old Duke of Sussex shared it was his wife who awakened him to issues affecting minorities, and how they’re committed to enacting change.
“I use that as just one example of where we as white people don’t always have the awareness of what it must be like for someone else of a different coloured skin, of a black skin, to be in the same situation as we are, where the world that we know has been created by white people for white people.
“It is not about pointing the finger, it is not about blame. I will be the first person to say, again, this is about learning. And about how we can make it better."
“I think it is a really exciting time in British culture and British history, and in world culture. This is a real moment that we should be grasping and actually celebrating. Because no one else has managed to do this before us.”
Meg praised the Black Lives Matter protests across the United States as a 'beautiful thing' while pointing out the sometimes inflammatory actions some people take in their name.

While Meghan and Harry live their unproblematic lives, Harry's sister-in-law's family causing controversy. Sighs...
Kate Middleton's uncle allegedly slammed the former "Suits" star. And he did it on job-seeking site, LinkedIn, of all sites.
In a now-deleted post on LinkedIn, Uncle Gary Goldsmith, blasted both Harry & Meghan, calling them all types of names and telling them they needed to "shut the f*** up." He reportedly posted (then deleted):
"With so much stuff going on in the world, still these two muppets are craving attention," he said. "Please shut the F up and bring up their child and stop talking, let alone demanding. Harry you have lost our love and respect. Meghan you are a wrong'n. Now hush please we are kinda busy saving lives and an economy."
Salty, much? Sir, how about YOU shut the f*** up and let them do them?
"If you are white and British, the world you see often looks just like you—on TV, in media, in the role models celebrated across our nation. That is not a criticism; it’s reality," the Duke & Duchess of Sussex said in an article for the Evening Standard. "Many recognize this, but others are not aware of the effect this has on our own perspective, our own bias, but also the effect it has on young people of color."
They hate to see it.
