Keri Hilson shook up the internet today with her social media postings.
The “Pretty Girl Rock” singer popped on Instagram showing off a baby bump. She only posted emojis in the caption. And with no explanation, the alleged pregnancy news sent fans and her celeb friends in a frenzy, posting congratulatory messages to her and her first bundle of joy.
"WAIIIIIIIITTT!!!!!! Keriiii! Sis! Congratulations!!!!! My heart is so full for you God is ..," actress Meagan Good wrote in her comments.
Turns out, that baby bump is likely for her new acting role. The 38-year-old singer/actress shared two pictures of her bump and in the second picture, she tagged LIFETIME, production company Swirl Films and Bishop T.D. Jakes.
If you haven't heard, Keri is filming (or recently wrapped up filming) a new movie called "Don't Waste Your Pretty," directed by Tamara Bass, in Atlanta. It's produced by Swirl Films.
The film, written by Katrina O'Gilvie, is based on the eponymous novel penned by award-winning author and media personality Demetria L. Lucas is slated to premiere in 2021. The cast includes Redaric Williams ("The Yard," "The Young And The Restless"), Deborah Joy Winans ("Greenleaf"), Jasmine Burke ("Saints & Sinners"), Kaye Singleton ("American Soul") and Rainey Branch ("Being Mary Jane," "Grey's Anatomy").
Over the summer, it was announced the movie would air on TVOne. However, we noticed Keri tagged LIFETIME in her IG post, so it seems the film will now be shown on LIFETIME if this is, in fact, the project she's currently filming. It's set to premiere in 2021.

Watch her sip some bubbly with her friends (on the 7th slide) while celebrating her 38th birthday a few days ago above. There is a such thing as sparkling grape juice though....
Welp. Keri's PR strategy worked.
