Queens recognize Queens!
Talk about a historic night at the Grammys! Megan Thee Stallion scooped up three awards, including Best New Artist. She’s the first female rapper to win the award since Lauryn Hill did in 1999. The Houston hottie also took home Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for her “Savage” remix with Beyoncé. It's the first time all-female collaborators won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance!
Beyoncé had a monumental night as well. She broke the record and became the most decorated female artist in Grammy history winning a total 28 Grammys. It was a magnificent night indeed.
Rap icon Lil Kim was tuned in and after the Houston natives basically took over the Academy Awards ceremony, the Brooklyn native hopped on social media to show the boss chicks some love.
”SCREAMING CONGRATULATIONS To my 2 beautiful Queens,” Kimmy wrote on Instagram.
First, she gave Meg her props after an incredible year:
”@theestallion, I have watched how hard you worked since you stepped on the scene consistent with your work and your love,” Kim wrote. “You are an amazing talent. Always keep your head to the sky and know you have made your Mommy proud! You deserve it all! May God continue to bless you ”
Then, she showered history making Queen Bey with praise.
”And to my Queen Bee Soul Sister, @beyonce, I love you sooo much. We came up together and as hard as I saw you work I always knew there was something special about you. You worked so hard to get to where you are and I knew that one day everything that you accomplished would be rewarded. You deserve every bit of recognition that you receive and thank you for inspiring all women to be independent and strong. You are EVERYTHING. Thanks for my little screen time and including me with all of the strong women in the industry and always showing me love!! I love you BEYONDsay my Queen Congratulations on making HISTORY”
