Famed doctor Ian Smith is NOT here for “The Tamron Hall Show!” He’s calling her and the show’s producers out, accusing them of only wanting to feature Black experts unless they were trending for something negative. Here’s everything he said inside….
It appears “The Tamron Hall Show” is being put on blast by Dr. Ian Smith.
Dr. Ian Smith – a popular doctor who has been featured on tons of daytime television shows to break down health issues – did an interview with “The Karen Hunter Show” where he accused a Black-led talk show of refusing to book Black experts unless they were in the headlines for something controversial.
During the interview, Dr. Ian explained how producers of the Black-led show (he never mentioned Tamron’s name) would only invite people of color on the show if they were involved in some type of controversy. He claims the show’s producers have told publicists NOT to pitch them their Black artists and he feels a type of way about it since the show is hosted by a Black woman (Tamron Hall) and executive produced by Black women (Tamron & Candi Carter – who previously worked on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”).
“There are a lot of people who look like me, who are equally educated, equally articulate, who are not getting a platform on major shows. And, you know, they won’t bring on African-American or Latinx people as experts to talk about things like education or sociology or medicine or law,” he said.
“They will only bring us on when we’re an entertainer or an athlete or we do something salacious. There is a talk show with an African-American host and an African-American executive producer that has said to publicists do not pitch us your Black clients we are not a Black show, pitch us your white clients, we don’t want to be looked at as a Black show,” he said. “They will bring on Black experts when they do something salacious or they’re in the headlines for doing something bad. Then they’ll bring Black people on to talk about that,” he continued.
Dr. Ian Smith said he felt it was his responsibility to air out the show because if the show was hosted by a white person and ran by white people, we would be calling them out for racism.
“I’m putting this show on blast because when white shows and hosts don’t let us on we criticize them, but the same criticism has to be held when a show is helmed and hosted by Black people that keep us off the airwaves and it’s just not right,” he said.
Again, he never named Tamron specifically, but the show’s host was able to connect the dots being that there aren’t but so many Black daytime TV hosts.
“Is it a she?,” host Karen Hunter asked. “Was she formerly on cable, and then moved to NBC and then moved on to her own show with her name on it?” she asked before Dr. Ian nodded and smiled.
“Tamron Hall, you heard it,” she said.
It's interesting. Tamron has had many black guests on the show who aren't necessarily controversial. She has made it known that her show is about "talking to the people folks are talking about," so it would be expected that she has guests who are in the mix of news in some way. This is the case for virtually every daytime show, though.

Folks have been sounding off over Dr. Ian's accusations:
#blacktwitter Its 1 thing 2 think there r people like Tamron & Candi Carter that add 2 the disparities that devalue us 2 make BLM necessary. Hearing it from, Dr Ian Smith supplies the actions needed 2 support our humanity, value, & our worth by calling them 2 task we all must!

@tamronhall @TamronHallShow getting exposed. Well, let's hope her white audience supports her whenever someone reveals to her she's not a white woman. I hate black people like this. #blackwomen #Blackwoman #Blackpeople #Blacklivesmatter https://t.co/xZaZ6UOhFv
