Tiffany Haddish jetted “home” for the holidays where she received a welcome fit for a queen by her grandfather’s Eritrean village. However, she had to weather a storm in Turkey before getting there. More inside….
Tiffany Haddish traveled overseas to the Motherland for the holidays. And while it was an emotional journey to get there, it was well worth it.
The Girls Trip actress was recently welcomed by her grandfather’s village in Eritrea, Africa. Draped in the country’s flag, the EMMY award winner was honored with a plaque that was placed in stone that read, “Tiffany Tsehaye Haddish Residence Geza Keren, Eritrea.”
”I am so happy to be welcome by my Grandfather’s village so warmly. I Love my People. #Eritrea," she captioned.
The comedienne shared videos from here visit where she’s seen dancing it up with the people of her grandfather’s village.
In 2019, “The Last O.G.” actress gained dual citizenship. Since then, she has been very much involved in the affairs of the country. The 42-year-old was raised in America, but she said her father always taught her about her heritage and that she should be proud about where she came from.
I am so Honored. I know my ancestors are proud. I look forward to spending more time with my people. https://t.co/Ui6vpvDNss

After being celebrated, Tiffany enjoyed some R&R, indulging in Eritrean culture. She enjoyed a spa treatment that they call Tsh.
“Eritrea spa treatment it call Tsh. They put butter in my hair, turmeric & honey on my face, Sesame oil all over my body oh and butter in my hot box," she said. “Then they put burning wood in a hole in the ground and you sit in the smoke and sweat. Baby, I am ready to be tasted BRING IN THE MEN. You must try if you come to Asmara. Thank you @hadnetkeleta for taking me I feel great. #vaginalsmoking,” she wrote.
Thankfully, all is well now. However, Tiffany went through a traumatic experience before she got there. Before making her way to her grandfather’s village, Tiffany hopped on Instagram Live during an emotional breakdown at Turkey Airlines.
Apparently, she got to the gate too late to board the plane and was turned away rudely. The comedienne wasn’t feeling how they were treating her, especially since she paid $7,000 for a First Class seat, so she hopped on social media. It’s unclear what calls were made, but after she hopped on Live, Turkish airline employees were singing a different tune.I am so upset I can’t even spell right now. I am being told that I can’t get to Asmara for two days WTF.
