Kanye West has a three-part Netflix documentary coming down the pipeline titled “jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy,” which will get a nationwide theatrical release before it hits the streaming giant.
Watch Ye argue why he’s a genius in the teaser trailer, plus peep flicks from his night out in LA with his boo Julia Fox and ex-Buccs baller Antonio Brown inside…
Kanye West says he’s a genius and he has two decades worth of footage to prove it to the naysayers.
From visionary filmmakers Coodie & Chike, Netflix is set to release a three-part documentary about Kanye West (now legally known as Ye) titled, “jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy," that was 20 years in the making, which will showcase both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist. It will chronicle Ye’s ascension to the top of the music charts, his relationship with his mother, Donda West, his reaction to her death, and more unseen home video footage and clips of him in Chicago in the 1990s.
“Me and Fest got into argument, God I feel like he disrespected me, man. Say I wasn’t a genius yet,” Ye said in the teaser.
“But who are you to call yourself a genius?,” Rhymefest asked as Ye smiles at the camera.
It’ll also focus on his failed attempt to run for president in 2020 as well as his failed marriage with his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian.
Peep the teaser below:
"jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy" will hold its world premiere virtually at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. On February 10th, Iconic Events Releasing and TIME Studios will debut Act 1 (Vision) in theaters nationwide for a one-day engagement, giving Ye fans an exclusive opportunity to see part of this groundbreaking project before it premieres in a three-week event on Netflix on February 16th.
According to Page Six, Netflix coughed up a cool $30 million for the documentary. Sheesh. The Grammy winning rapper was not creatively involved, however, he “implied consent for Coodie and Chike to move forward with the project by way of granting them access to his life for the past 21 years.”
Also....
Ye released his new music video for “Heaven and Hell,” which also serves as the debut YEEZY Gap TV commercial. It premiered yesterday (Jan. 10th) on ESPN during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
The Yeezy GAP hoodie - which is also seen in the "Heaven And Hell" music video - is available now globally for purchase. The hoodie is available in both adult and kids sizes in black or blue. It's priced at $90 and it'll ship in 4-8 weeks. Oh.
With his new relationship, the 44-year-old rapper has been out in these streets more than usual. He’s continuing his parade of his new days-old relationship with Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox. After doing date night in Miami and New York (that turned into a couples photoshoot for Interview magazine), the new couple was spotted on the west coast for the first time.
Arriving separately, Ye & Julia linked up at celeb hotspot Craig’s Monday night (Jan. 10th) seemingly rocking matching ‘fits. The Jesus Is King rapper is still wearing those huge boots and Julia is still wearing her new man’s favorite designer, Balenciaga.
