IT’S TIME TO VOTE! Hit The Polls Today, Your Life Depends On It

It’s Election Day! And your voice needs to be heard. We need every last one of you to hit the polls today. Let's discuss inside…

The day is finally here!

The 2022 midterm elections are underway, giving the nation a chance to decide which party will lead over the House and Senate for the remainder of Joe Biden’s presidency. While Biden isn’t on the ballot, his agenda is up in the air as Democrats defend their majorities in Congress. The balance of power in Congress is at stake.

The House of Representatives has 435 seats. A party must hold 218 seats to claim a majority. Before the midterm elections, Democrats held 220 seats, Republicans had 212, and three seats are currently vacant. The three open seats were previously held by two Democrats and one Republican, bringing the Democrats' total to 222 and the Republicans' total to 213. This means that a five-seat flip would be enough to give Republicans control of the House.

As for the Senate, it is composed of 100 seats, which means a party needs 51 seats to claim a majority.

Currently, each party has exactly 50 senators, with the Democrats and Republicans evenly divided. However, the Democrats have a slim majority thanks to Vice President Kamala Harris' tie-breaking vote as Senate President.

As a result, Republicans could seize control of the Upper Chamber if they flip just one seat in the midterm elections in 2022.

There’s so much going on in America, and there’s simply too much at stake for any of us to sit on the sidelines this year. Civil rights, abortion rights, voting rights, gun control, inflation, student loan debt, energy, gay marriage, a huge threat to democracy!

It’s all on the line today.

Democrat Stacey Abrams is running for governor against Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, in the state of Georgia for a rematch:

"Representation matters. It matters that we have a governor who embraces diversity as our strength. It matters that every community in Georgia sees themselves as a beacon for change,” Stacey captioned one of her ad campaigns.

If she wins, she’ll become the first Black female governor in the nation. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Georgia will vote accordingly.

Celebs are in the streets, encouraging folks to vote, including Kerry Washington and Katie Couric. Watch them in action below:

Celebs and politicians have been active on social media to get their fans hyped up to hit the polls:

If you're in line by closing time, they MUST let you vote.  Don't back down, don't waiver, don't do ish but stand there and make sure you cast your ballot.  Let’s build a better America!
