White University of Kentucky Student ARRESTED For Racial & Physical Assault On Black Student Amid Racist Rage, Woman Issues Lame Apology

The white University of Kentucky student who bit, kicked, and hurled racial slurs at a Black student has been arrested on several assault charges. Situations like this one often come to light and go viral to remind those who keep saying “racism is dead” that it’s VERY much still alive and thriving.

A white University of Kentucky student has been arrested for hurling racial slurs and physically attacking a Black student, a dormitory desk clerk who was working an overnight shift. And the incident was caught on camera.

According to reports, Sophia Rosing, 22, was arrested and booked at the Fayette County Detention Center around 3:50 a.m. on Sunday morning (Nov. 6th) after physically and racially attacking freshman Kylah Spring.

Below is a clip of Sophia being arrested. As she’s being escorted out, she kept saying “n*gger. n*gger.”

 

Sophia’s disgusting actions resulted in her being charged with 4th-degree assault, 3rd-degree assault (of a police officer), alcohol intoxication in a public place, and disorderly conduct.

Sophia pleaded not guilty, and her bond was set at $10,000.

CNN reports:

The woman told police she “has lots of money and get[s] special treatment,” the police report said. When told to sit back in a chair, the woman kicked the arresting officer and bit their hand, the police report said.

The report identifies the woman as “unknown” because she had no identification and continuously refused to identify herself.

Sally Woodson, the executive communications specialist for the University of Kentucky confirmed to CNN the police report pertains to Rosing.

Rosing was initially booked as a Jane Doe in the Kentucky Department of Corrections’ records, Baird said.

In a message to the campus community, University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto said the incident took place at one of the dorms and one of the victims was a student employee working an overnight shift at the front desk. The university staff is conducting a review and reaching out the victims, Capilouto said.

“To be clear: we condemn this behavior and will not tolerate it under any circumstance. The safety and well-being of our community has been — and will continue to be — our top priority,” Capilouto said.

Capilouto said he had reviewed video that appears to show the assault, which was posted online Sunday, and condemned the student’s behavior.

“The video images I have seen do not honor our responsibilities to each other. They reflect violence, which is never acceptable, and a denial of the humanity of members of our community. They do not reflect civil discourse. They are deeply antithetical to what we are and what we always want to be as a community,” the university’s president said.

After the incident, Kylah posted the video on her TikTok, but TikTok is doing some funny ish because it’s gone. The company also seemingly muted one of the videos where she’s explaining what went down.

In another video, Kylah explained that the TikTok app kept taking her videos down, so she shared a 3-minute version of what happened when she encountered Sophia. Here’s what she said:

Monday night (Nov. 7th), students organized a march to demand justice for Kylah Spring. The students yelled out "protect Black women," and "say her name."

Kylah Spring spoke to hundreds at a rally with tears streaming down her face as she shared her reaction to being physically, verbally, and racially assaulted.

After bonding out, Sophia took to social media to issue a lame apology (like they always do when they’re caught being racist in 4K).

 

”I was under the influence I’m sorry please don’t judge me I lost everything,” Sophia wrote on IG Stories.

”I understand a [sic] apology may not help but I am not a racist I was under the influence I lose everything literally [broken heart emoji] & now I have to fear for my life god forgiveness please understand,” she wrote in another IG Stories post.

It appears she also wiped her IG account clean:

They say the company you keep is a reflection of yourself. And Sophia’s friends talk JUST like her. Peep some of their posts following her arrest below:

Well, Sophia’s actions cost her BIG time. She used to be a campus influencer for Dillards, but NOT anymore. The retail company terminated its partnership with Sophia immediately.

Sophia also lost her partnership with Her Campus Media. The company reportedly removed her from the program.

She was hired through a program run by College Fashionista and their parent company, Her Campus Media.

College Fashionista also released a statement:

Today we learned of a video involving a College Fashionista member physically and verbally assaulting two Black women. At Her Campus Media and College Fashionista, we vehemently denounce this abhorrent behavior and do not condone racism or hate in any form. We unapologetically stand in support of BIPOC communities and affirm that Black lives matter. Full stop.

Immediately upon being informed of the incident, we removed the member from our community and terminated her affiliation with any of our programs.

We strive to ensure all of our members reflect our values, but in this case we failed. Here’s how we’ll be taking accountability moving forward:

→ Sophia Rosing was removed from the College Fashionista community effective immediately.

→ We will be conducting an immediate detailed review of our member management practices, including our vetting processes, internal training, and beyond.

Thank you to the community for bringing this to our attention. Thank you for raising your voices and holding us accountable. We sincerely apologize for the immense hurt caused to the individuals involved and to our wider community.

Serves her right! We hope justice is served for Kylah’s sake. She didn’t deserve ANYTHING that happened to her. Hopefully, she doesn’t accept anything less than having her full college career PAID IN FULL because what happened to her was absolutely disgusting.
