Wendy Williams' Boozy Night Out: Former Talk Show Host Breaks Sobriety To Celebrate ‘New Lease On Life’ At Gay Bar

Wendy Williams, the former daytime talk show host, is making headlines again after being spotted partying at a gay bar in New York City. This comes just months after she checked into rehab for substance abuse issues. However, her representative claims that Wendy is celebrating a "new lease on life" and several new projects. Details inside…

Wendy Williams is back and ready to celebrate her "new lease on life." Despite a stint in rehab last summer, the former daytime talk show host was recently spotted enjoying a boozy night out in New York City, according to Page Six.

Her representative, Shawn Zanotti, explained that Wendy likes to acknowledge her fans when she's out in public. On this particular night, she was celebrating the new things in her life, including several projects like a podcast and a potential new series. Zanotti added that Wendy is happy and excited for her new opportunities and zest for life.

“She is happy and wanted to celebrate as she has a new lease on life,” Zanotti shared, adding that Wendy loved stopping by Midtown gay bar The Townhouse because she “loves her fans and fully supports the LGBTQ community, which is a big part of her fan base.”

While she was seen drinking at Fresco by Scotto and The Townhouse, a popular gay bar, the 58-year-old TV host was not trying to hide her drinking. In fact, she was overheard telling her group that she was determined to "get drunk."

“She kept saying she wanted to get drunk tonight,” a source told Page Six. “She wasn’t hiding [her drinking]' before claiming the star said she is moving to LA in three weeks"

The source added that Wendy said: “She told this table that she was looking for love — and like in Sex and the City, she’s willing to f***.”

While at the bar, Wendy reportedly posed it up for many pictures with all the gay men. Check out one below:

In September 2022, news broke that Wendy had checked back into rehab amid her fallout with production company Debmar-Mercury. After nearly two months of treatment, she said she was "better than ever" and ready to take on the world.

Wendy struggled with substance abuse since the beginning of her career in the early 2000s. After becoming sober, she appeared to have relapsed in late 2018 or early 2019, leading her to take a two-month hiatus from her show. She was seen leaving a "sober house" in March 2019. Initially, she claimed it was to treat her Graves' disease, but she later admitted to entering a halfway house to help maintain her sobriety.

In April 2019, she filed for divorce from her husband Kevin Hunter Sr., ending nearly 22 years of marriage. According to court documents obtained by The Sun, Wendy's financial guardian will NOT have to resume cutting Kevin alimony checks.

Kevin's request was deemed "not emergent" by the judge, who ordered his "application to be dismissed without prejudice." The judge also denied Kevin's request for Wendy to pay his attorney fees. Kevin's fight for Wendy's payments, on the other hand, is far from over. While the judge stated that his alimony payment demand is not an emergency, he can still take his case to mediation.

While some may judge her for her choices, it's important to remember that addiction is a lifelong battle, and hopefully Wendy is doing what she needs to do to stay healthy and happy. Hopefully, her podcast will premiere soon.
