YIKES! Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty ARRESTED For Not Registering As A Sex Offender, Pleads NOT Guilty

Nicki Minaj's husband Kenneth Petty has been arrested after he failed to register as a sex offender. Deets inside...

“YIKES!” … literally.

Fresh from their BAEcay at Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty has been arrested. Kenneth was booked after turning himself in to U.S. Marshals on an indictment for failing to register as a sex offender.

Mr. Petty moved to Cali with his rapper wife in July 2019, but according to court documents, he failed to register as a sex offender after the move.

A few months ago, he got pulled over in Beverly Hills and that’s what started his legal troubles on the west coast. According to TMZ, Kenneth was pulled over by Beverly Hills PD for a traffic stop on November 15th. After they ran his name, cops realized he was a registered sex offender in New York, but he never registered in California, which he’s legally required to do. He was arrested and released on a $20,000 bond.

If you didn’t know, Kenneth was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995. According to reports, he served nearly 4 years in NY state prison and was required to register as a sex offender.

Mr. Petty better pray hard he’s not convicted because if he cops a federal charge for failure to register, he faces up to 10 years in prison. YIKES!

He just appeared before a judge and pleaded not guilty. Here's what went down:

Prosecutors wanted Petty placed on house arrest, but his attorney objected and instead Petty is being required to wear an ankle monitor. He will also have a curfew. Petty's lawyer says he's going to post $100,000 bond later today. Petty will also be under pretrial supervision and has already surrendered his passport. His travel will be restricted to Southern California.

Petty also can't use drugs, even marijuana from legal dispensaries in L.A.

His indictment reads in part:

"Beginning on or about July 14, 2019, and continuing through on or about November 15, 2019, in Los Angeles County, within the Central District of California, and elsewhere, defendant Kenneth Petty, an individual who was required to register pursuant to the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act ("SORNA"), as a result of being convicted of Attempted Rape in the First Degree, in violation of New York Penal Code Section 110-130.35, a felony, on or about April 5, 1995, in the Supreme Court for the State of New York, Queen County, case number 4521-94, and having, after said conviction, traveled in interstate commerce, knowingly failed to register as a sex offender as required by SORNA."

Kenneth's next hearing is scheduled for March 23rd.

The QUEEN rapper became Mrs. Petty after obtaining a marriage license in July 2019, and then officially marrying Kenneth in October.  She has spoken out several times defending him, and placing blame on the victim - who she alluded to lying - and the system.

Last month, Nicki’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was sentenced to 25 years for sexually abusing his 11-year-old stepdaughter. Sheesh.
