Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have abandoned their royal duties as top members of the royal family. However, their royal empire continues to expand and flourish.
This time, they’re taking their talents behind-the-scenes at Netflix. The royal couple singed a multi-year production deal where they will produce exclusive films and series for the platform.
Fans can expect scripted series, docu-series, documentaries, features and children’s programming. Also, Meg & Harry may star in some of the projects – taking Meg back to her old days of acting. However, the former “Suits” star has NO plans to return to acting.
"Our lives, both independent of each other, and as a couple have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection," Meghan and Harry said in a statement. "Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope."
They added, "As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens. We are pleased to work with Ted and the team at Netflix whose unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action."
Harry & Meg already have an animated series in the works which is focused on inspiring women. Loves it.
No word on the actual amount of their bag, but we know they made bank. They’re deal definitely seems similar to the deal Forever President Barack Obama and Forever First Lady Michelle Obama inked in 2018.
It’ll be interesting to see what projects the royal couple will bring to the streaming service. The first-time parents have their very own show critic to view their children projects before they are released. Little Archie will get to see all of their content for kids before its released.
Meg, Harry and Archie have been living in Los Angeles since March. They first moved into Tyler Perry’s Beverly Hills mansion and then moved into their own family home (thanks to Oprah). Speaking of Lady O, Harry has teamed up with the media mogul for an Apple TV+ series about mental health set for next year.
While enjoying that west coast lifestyle, the couple is also still putting in work in the philanthropic world.
The Duke & Duchess got their hands dirty for a good cause! They popped up at the Los Angeles Preschool Learning Center recently to plant some food with the kiddies in their green garden. Sweet!
